As part of our ongoing efforts to promote academic excellence and research dissemination, NPTEL offers Conference Sponsorship Support to faculty members, researchers, and students affiliated
with recognized institutions. This initiative enables participants to present their research findings at reputed national conferences, thereby fostering collaboration,
innovation, and professional growth.
Objectives
- Encourage presentation of high-quality research at recognized conferences.
- Support capacity building and professional development among faculty and students.
- Promote institutional visibility and research outreach across platforms.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:
- Must be a faculty member, research scholar, or student from a registered Local Chapter/partner institution of NPTEL.
- The paper must be accepted for oral or poster presentation at a recognized conference.
- The applicant should be the primary or presenting author.
- The institution must endorse the application through the designated authority (e.g., Head of Institution / SPOC).
- Applicants must not have received conference sponsorship from NPTEL in the same academic year.
- All participants sponsored by NPTEL must acknowledge its support in any presentation, publication, or material related to the sponsored event.
Nature of Support
Sponsorship covers the following:
- Conference registration fee.
- Travel and accommodation expenses (as per organization norms).
The final amount sanctioned will depend on the nature of the conference, location, and availability of funds.
Documents Required
Applicants are required to submit
- Conference invitation / acceptance letter confirming paper presentation.
- Conference brochure or official website link.
- Copy of the accepted abstract / full paper.
- Endorsement / recommendation from Head of Institution or designated authority.
Incomplete applications or those missing required documentation will not be processed.
Application Process
- Submit the online sponsorship application form.
- Upload all required documents in PDF format.
- Copy of the accepted abstract / full paper.
- The proposals will be reviewed by the Academic/Research Committee.
- Applicants will be informed of the decision by email.
Post-Conference Requirements
Within 15 days of the conference, sponsored participants must submit:
- Participation certificate / proof of presentation.
- Travel and expense receipts (if reimbursement-based).
- A summary report explicitly acknowledging the role of NPTEL in the work or paper presented.
Failure to submit post-event documents may result in ineligibility for future support.
Important Notes
- Applications without requisite documents will be automatically rejected.
- Decisions made by the evaluation committee are final and binding.
- The organization reserves the right to modify or withdraw the scheme at any time based on policy and fund availability.
