NPTEL is excited to announce the NPTEL Pre-Doctoral Fellowships program for outstanding NPTEL learners with a Bachelor's or Master's degree! This program is designed to bridge the gap between online learning and research experience, preparing you for success in postgraduate studies.

• Cycle 2: July 2025 - July 2026 [Ongoing]

Program Details

• Eligibility: Open to all NPTEL Stars with a Bachelor's or Master's degree
• Duration: Up to 1 year
• Total Fellowship Amount: ₹4,00,000 per year, inclusive of the monthly stipend and contingency grant.
  • Monthly Stipend: ₹25,000+HRA per month for a duration of 12 months.
  • Contingency Grant: An additional ₹1,00,000 per year for research-related expenses.
• Location: In-person at the institute where you are selected for Fellowship
• Project Selection: Up to 1 year
  • Each institute will advertise faculty-led research projects and academic requirements.
  • You can apply to up to five projects, ranking your preferences.
  • Faculty will select students based on resumes, short videos, and interviews, prioritizing your preferences.
• Important Note
  • The fellowship period is for one (1) year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and conduct of the student, as determined by the Institute.
  • This fellowship is designed to provide a pathway to pursue advanced research opportunities and does not guarantee admission to M.S or Ph.D programs in the concerned institute or under the faculty.

  • The registration period for Cycle 2 has already concluded.

Accommodation and Travel Allowance

• On-campus housing is not provided. You will be responsible for securing your own accommodation.

Application Process

• Await the announcement of available projects and academic requirements.
• Review the project listings and submit your application, ranking your top five choices.
• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
• Upon selection, you will receive an offer letter and confirm your start date within the program timeframe.
