
Rate laws and rate constant 
 Rate law is a mathematical expression, which relates the decreases in concentration of a reactant with time and it is determined experimentally.
 Order of reaction :the power to which the concentration term of reactant is raised in the rate equation determine the order of reaction. Order of reaction has no relation with stoichiometry of reactant.

 Rate =k[A]^{m} here m represents order of the reaction with respect to reactant (A in the present case).
 Larger the value of k is the faster will be the reaction.
 k is independent of concentration.
